Forming an international varsity with credible education
Symbiosis has always been instrumental in their efforts to augment the level of quality education by lending an ear to the problems of youth, including foreign students – a pertinent yardstick to be called Symbiosis International University, the name conferred by the University Grants Commission in 2006. This article will inform about the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP), one of the attempts by the university, to ease up the admission process in their twelve esteemed institutes:
English Language Teaching Institute of Symbiosis & Symbiosis Institute of Foreign & Indian Languages (ELTIS & SIFIL)
SNAP test is the first and compulsory step to qualify for the admissions in any of the postgraduate programs offered by the participating institutes, which is further followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The SNAP test is usually held in the last week of December every year with the results being declared in the first half of January, the next year.
Eligibility Criteria
Graduates in any discipline from recognized universities are eligible to apply for the exam. The final year students from degree courses can also apply. The minimum percentage required to qualify for the SNAP test is 50 percent (45 percent for SC/ST categories).
Foreign aspirants can contact The International Office, set-up by SIU for their assistance. Symbiosis has categorized international students as follows:
Foreign National (FN): Aspirants having Foreign Passport are eligible to apply for the SNAP test.
Person of Indian Origin (PIO): Aspirants, citizens of a country other than India and possessing PIO card are eligible to apply for the SNAP test.
Under eligibility criteria, NRIs are required to have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognized by appropriate authorities or Association of Indian Authorities.
